JubiFarm

Jubifarm is a sustainable and multi-stakeholder initiative that is conceived to enhance the profitability and generate income opportunities in farming for the migrants returning back to their natives. The initiative is recognising both the male and female equal stakeholders of the farmland. It shall empower farmers by facilitating access to modern and sustainable farming methods.

Envisioned in 2 phases, the first phase of the project initially focuses on to enhance the scope of agroforestry and horticulture as peripheral areas of agriculture for improvement of microclimate of agro-ecosystem and transforming the lives and landscapes of the masses in general and also address the global warming and climate change concern.

While Phase 2 will be dedicated towards promotion of cash crops, Farmers Producers Organisation (FPO) formation and market linkages and shall be started in the following year of this project plan.

Under this initiative, JBF shall focus on the Phase-I and select 1000 interested farmers across its select plant locations and promote the quality planation of horticulture and timber plants. The project is implemented in a mutual cooperation mode where some work is assigned to the farmers while some is taken care by JBF itself. The farmers are capacitated and trained and introduced to the scientific farming techniques to achieve high return on low investment. The entire practice is being done using natural organic supplements.

Jubifarm (Sustainable Agriculture program having sub programs like (Pashu Sakhi & Paryavaran Sakhi) aiming at building entrepreneurial skills among Rural women.

Objectives

  • Increase the income of farmers through Enabling the farmers to acquire knowledge on Good Agriculture practices and develop sustainable farm through agroforestry and horticulture
  • Support the farmers in developing sustainable farm through agroforestry and horticulture as peripheral areas of agriculture
  • Cultivate high value and marketable vegetables with higher productivity
  • Reduce post-harvest losses and Improve quality and quantity and marketed to premium markets

Technical Integration

A mobile application is conceived and developed by the JBF to leverage the technical innovation to make the projects inclusive, acceptable, affordable and accessible. This sustains the project deliverables and encourage technology acceptability among farmers.

The project integrates a technological platform to complement agriculture expertise on ground. Technical platform is a one-stop solutions for information dissemination, selected farmer’s record keeping and data management, market linkages etc.

  • Losses of vegetable/Fruits will decrease which will positively impact in terms of reduction in Green House Gases

  • Develop a Jubilant Krishi Mitra Platform
  • Training and capacity building for farmer by aligning with KVKs & Local universities
  • Provision of infrastructure, equipment, and vehicles: To facilitate the collection, storage, washing, drying packing and marketing of produce grown by member farmers
  • Enterprise management, operation and maintenance
  • The pack house and associated cool store, sorting, washing, grading, and packaging

  • The project has a very good potential to engage and building long term relationship with the farmers/villages in the surrounding to our manufacturing location, on the other hand in the long term it will become self-sustainable
